School Reviews

Both my boys started out in the Blount County school system for the first 4 yrs of school. We paid tuition for our oldest to go to Alcoa and ended up having to move into the City to get our youngest in the system. They both came into the Alcoa school system behind in reading, but within 2 years in the Alcoa system, they were both brought up to their grade level in reading. We have been very pleased with the education our boys have received at Alcoa. Our oldest son has now graduated from UT and our youngest will be a junior at AHS next year. Excellent school system!!!

I've had at least one student in Alcoa City Schools for the past 10 years, from the elementary school to the high school. The school system is second to none! We moved to the City of Alcoa to guarantee our children would be able to attend Alcoa City schools, not having to worry about waiting lists and tuition. The smaller size of the school system was the first to draw us to the school district. Before moving, we visited the high school unannounced while classes were changing, and were incredibly impressed with the student conduct and teacher interaction. There is none other so impressive as the new high school that opened in 2015 to include the best in advanced technology. Of course, the rich heritage in athletics drew us as well. Generations of families continue to attend Alcoa which tells me, once you become a part of the Alcoa Tornado family, you never want to leave. I'm thankful every school year that we made the decision to move to this school system.
