We have been very happy with our child's experience at Breakthrough. The teachers and staff are deeply committed and the principal, Norma Neumann-Johnson, has been nominated to represent CT for the National Principal of the Year award. The character development curriculum teaches conflict resolution skills, tolerance and responsibility. Consequently, the students are well behaved and bullying is almost non-existent. The school honors diversity and the students are well integrated. There is a mandatory enrichment program from 3-4pm during which kids get to sign up for varied activities such as journaling, cooking, sports, arts, clubs, etc. The school facilities are welcoming, modern and well maintained. As a suburban parent, I have been very pleased our experience and I believe my child has truly benefited from three years at this diverse and welcoming school.
