The academic programs are okay. i mean, you don't really have as many advanced classes as you would have in a school in a city, but the teachers give you a lot of attention. sports. yeah, they practically run our school. if you're not in a sport, you're pretty much a "loser". Art programs are shoved aside. choir is considered a joke. band is just an easy "A". it isn't fair for the students who act, for there is no drama program at all. forensics is the speech program they have and that is basically the only opportunity a student has to act. the only sports avaliable are baseball, softball, football, wrestling, volleyball, and basketball. cheerleading and poms are not considered sports, resulting in no school sponsership. the dance team that was formed at that school is funded completely by the students involved in it. they buy their own uniforms and pom poms. of course the football team is a bit of an embarrassment. i understand that it is a small school, but loosing almost every game? loosing the homecoming game? having maybe one or two star players? putting little guys as line men? please... let's be real. while the coaches are busy soaking up all the money for new -UN NEEDED- uniforms, the facilities are soaking up the money for ridiculous cameras that do not benefit the students in any way. the students do not even have locks on their lockers. if there is someone watching the cameras who tends to forget to look at the screen, what's the point in having them. oh and the new buzzer system? wow. i get that there have been school shootings, but doesn't anyone see that this school is SO small that the person in question would be noticed by a teacher or a student. oh and those trusty cameras would pick the person right up. there are several good teachers in this school, but the principal seems a little power hungry, inconsistant in punishments, rude, judgemental, and completely confused as to how to be a principal. he judges other students by their siblings, is quick to make conclusions, is WAY too defensive, and enjoys the power he holds way too much. making a teacher cry is not what a principal should be doing. if he acted correctly in the first place maybe then he would get more "respect". Lastly, i just want to say that if one student is going to get the worst punishment for skipping class, shouldn't another student who skips class get the same punishment. Especially if the student who commits the offense first does it for an emotional break down caused by her mania depression? [[oh and i forgot to mention that the principal is VERY insensitive... harrassment is something you should just "SUCK UP" because this is high school.]]
